Teamwork Efficiency. Teamwork Is Imperative In Organizations.

Teamwork Efficiency Teamwork is imperative in organizations. In addition, an effective leader is needed to make sure that the team is on target, working towards goals that help the organization be successful. Furthermore, it is essential for senior management to be able to communicate through tough issues within the company and come up with solutions in order to keep the business efficacious. In the case study, The Chattanooga Ice Cream Division, Charlie Moore is struggling with his management team. The company just lost a big customer, and the management team needs to work together to solve this problem; however, Moore’s leadership style is not advantageous to this group or the situation. Furthermore, his management team would rather†¦show more content†¦It is quite evident that just because they are the senior management does not mean that as a group they can solve any problems. â€Å"Bringing a group of highly-skilled individuals together is not sufficient for teams to be effective. Rather, team members need to be able to work well together in order for the team to successfully achieve its purposes† (McEwan, Ruissen, Eys, Zumbo, 2017, p.1). In this case, the finger pointing and lack of trust in each other keep the team focusing on only their issues and their departments, losing focus on the corporation as a whole. The absence of trust is apparent in how each individual is so defensive about their departments and shift blame to the others. Barry Walkins, Vice President of Marketing, is highly creative, although unorganized and lacks follow through. His characteristics cause conflict with Billy Fale, Vice President of Production and Kent Donaldson, Vice President of Research and Development. Les Holly, Vice President of Sales, had less conflict due to his absence from the team, he spent most of his time in the field, and consequentially, he had a tendency to withhold information. In addition, he did have tension with Stephanie Krane, Vice President, and Controller, about the expense accounts, she tightened up with the salesforce.
